"Super clean space, very comfortable location and friemdly staff. I stayed in all-women room and it was very quiet option. Location is right at the city center close to the bus stops, train station, supermarkets. Facilities are very clean and tidy. Even though I usually do not stay in hostels, this one was great."
"I liked everything :)"
"My stay at the hostel was enjoyable and the communication with the staff straight-forward and helpful. The facilities were cleaned frequently during the day. There were only two toilets (the third seemed to be always locked) on the floor, but somehow there were no queues! The shower-room was clean and spacious with stools and hangers for clothes. There were free toiletries to use for a shower (but I found only shampoo and conditioners, no shower gel). The bed shook a lot when I or the woman sleeping on the bed below me moved around, but was comfortable. The kitchen space is very pretty and bright with a large wooden table and several plants on the window sills."
"The Scotland-France rugby game was on during my stay, so the cost per night was much higher than I would have expected for a hostel."
"Very friendly staff, great location, comfortable beds, and everything was clean. I really enjoyed my stay"

"Location is perfect if anyone wants to stay in the city centre and visit all the places. Bed is a little uncomfortable because of the height, 2 bunks instead of 3 would have been perfect. Room is beautiful. I think providing a slippers for bathroom should be considered. We absolutely loved the kitchen, it has everything."

"Note I was moved from the Haystack hostel upstairs to Princes street hostel which I believe is the same company. So this review is for The Princes street hostel Location is fantastic. Right beside Princes Street and Waverley train station. Beds comfortable. Sink in bedroom is very handy. Big clean kitchen with free tea & coffee. Friendly staff. The hostel is exceptionally clean. Nice comfortable lounge. Overall very high standard."
"I liked everything. Note that there are three hostels in this building, all through the one door at the bottom. The Baxter hostel on the bottom, The Haystack hostel In the middle and The Princes Street hostel on the top. They are connected by a winding stair. There is no elevator / lift."
"Haystack was the perfect stop as a solo traveller visiting Edinburgh. The hostel felt like a safe, friendly and peaceful space. The extra thought gone in to the kitchen, rooms and social space made the stay a comfortable one. Thank you Helen!"
